What is a Full Lace Wig?

A lace wig, also called a lace "unit" or "hair system",  are hair extensions that create the illusion that hair is growing out of one's scalp, and therefore is one of the most natural looking extensions on the market. This is achieved by the method of the wig construction. A fine lace material is used as the base where individual hairs are meticulously hand tied onto the lace. The term 'full lace' denotes that the base cap is made fully of lace, while 'lace front' wigs have lace in front and different materials at the back of the cap.

There are typically two types of lace materials used to make the base cap- Swiss and French lace. Swiss lace is very fine and delicate and is the most undetectable choice.

Though French lace is not as undetectable (but also a suitable choice), its advantage is that it is more durable over time. The entire unit is constructed of this fine lace material and a wig cap that matches the color of the client’s scalp is placed on the client’s head before the unit is applied so that the unit gives the illusion of the hair growing from the scalp and the client can enjoy “freestyle” parting. Once the client receives their unit, the lace is cut back to create a realistic hairline. The unit is then secured to the clients head by utilizing either tape or glue adhesives.

The result is a stunning and undetectable hair solution for you to enjoy.

Healthy Hair

Healthy hair is my passion and my ability to provide hair extensions or alternative hair replacement options for those who are not fortunate enough to have the hair that they desire, makes me feel rewarded.

It deeply saddens me to find that many women in efforts to maintain the "modern and hip styles" often neglect their scalp and hair; thus causing scalp conditions, hair breakage and sometimes irreparable damage to their hair follicles.  It is important for women to always carefully consider what type of hair treatments, styling, extension services and even what stylist you allow in your hair.

You must always ask lots of questions regarding your hair care and receive answers.  You should keep an accurate record of all of your services to insure that you are not over processing your hair.  You should be aware of what products your stylist uses on your hair and you should maintain a healthy diet that consists of multi-vitamins, water and daily exercise.  A healthy body will produce healthy hair, skin and nails.

Today, hair extensions are the hot new craze with there being so many different options for you to choose from.  My advice to you is to do thorough research on any type of extension system to ensure it is right for you.  Make sure that you find out what the maintenance consists of to insure that you can handle the upkeep while keeping your natural hair healthy.  If you are unsure of how to maintain your natural hair or the hair system, or if you are not getting detailed information from the retailer/stylist on the pro's and con's and finally if you are not given a consultation (either personal or detailed email/telephone consultation) where several questions about you and your hair is being discussed; I would seriously consider going to another specialist.

While the maintenance of many extension methods are fairly easy, you should make sure that you are seeing a Licensed Cosmetologist to properly install/remove and maintain your extensions to prevent damage to your hair.  I know that you may be thinking that "doing this may be costly" but consider this; when you leave the care of your hair to a non-professional, you are taking serious risks.  If the hair follicles becomes damaged you may never be able to re-grow your hair.  Is the risk of loosing your hair something that you would want to leave to an "around the way girl" who claims she knows what she is doing simply to save a few bucks?  Think of your hair and yourself even, as a luxury high performance automobile.  A luxury automobile is known as a high quality and high performance vehicle where only top quality parts, fuel and motor oils are used to ensure its performance.  A luxury automobile owner would never put cheap fuel in their car or take it to be serviced by a local mechanic.

If you apply the same principles to the care and maintenance of your hair and body, you will see difference in your mind body and soul.
